Couples/partners are invited to dance alongside each other or together. This session is open to everyone. Bring your spouse and contribute to your relationship on a nice way. This is a chance to spend quality time together when you can have fun, time travel and get moving all at once.
(we don't cater for under 18's).
On selected Thursdays (once a month) at 6.30pm COUPLES/PARTNERS dance in Kenmore.
Send in a list of your favourite bands/singers/songs/genres so the session will have a favourite of yours in the track :)
We start with warm-up moves to a heart-rate raising song, followed by another, and another... shifting towards dance moves. The trainer will guide along the session, where the ladies will get the most guidance on how to move to the music, unless they are comfortable with their own moves and styles. The men - if they require - will receive visual prompts on how to dance next to or with their partners (basic dance moves/steps or solo boxing exercise moves). THERE IS GUIDANCE, BUT NO SET STEP TEACHING.
Couples are encouraged to find their own rhythm and fun in dancing.
Around the middle of the session the songs get slower, allowing to catch a breath and reenergise, as well as to dance together to a slow song if they like. Just like in the old times :) But it is optional.
After that the party picks up again.
You'll be shown a few dance steps and dance moves you can do during the session. There is no dance teaching here.
We aim to follow the beats, feel the music and move to it. Simple.
The male partner's role is to accompany the female part, engage with her from time to time, and to find his centre to feel confident separately and have fun.
Requirement: what's for the public is for the public, what's private is private. Couples making others uncomfortable with their outfit/behaviour will be asked to leave (eg. explicitly sexual or loud or abusive etc).
Please stay moderate and moral.
A regular session runs for 45 mins plus 5 mins stretching.
